Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees

As a trustee, you have a legal duty to understand your roles and responsibilities. Convert to a CIO

Unincorporated Charity to Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

Converting to a CIO has multiple benefits for your charity. We support you through the transition from an unincorporated charity to a CIO, guiding you through the legal, financial, and operational steps. Completion time can vary depending on the types of assets your charity holds (e.g. free hold or leasehold property or permanent endowments).

This comprehensive service includes:

• Set up and register of the new CIO
• Obtaining Charity Commission authority for the CIO to grant you indemnity for any liabilities incurred while acting as trustees of the unincorporated charity.
• Obtain Charity Commission authority when the same trustees are involved in both the transferring and receiving charities and face a conflict of interest in approving the transfer.
  
• Advise on transferring employees to receiving charity via TUPE

This service is divided into three tiers:

• Independent Examination - Starting at £400
• Accounts and Annual Report - Starting at £900
• All in one – Accounts, Annual Report and Independent Examination - Starting at £1200

The exact price depends on the size of your charity, We are able to offer this price for most charities with an income under £250,000.

Bookkeeping

• A fixed fee of £40 per month (up to 75 transactions)
• Above 75 transactions, additional £1 per transaction
